Greetings. Beech Springs Alpacas is owned and operated by Kate Brown. My background has been in healthcare. I've been a nurse for as long as I can remember and, before that, a veterinary technician. Ten years ago, I graduated from a Master's program as a Nurse Practitioner. It has been a terrific and rewarding career but now it is time to move on to another lifestyle. I will be able to use my assessment skills with a different breed of animal!
I have been blessed by supportive family and incredible mentors who have been willing to share a wealth of knowledge. I sincerely hope that I can be as helpful to others in their development and management of life with alpacas.
I will offer fair contract terms, 24/7 customer support, reasonable prices, financing and a pledge that I will never knowingly sell an animal that has been surgically altered in order to misrepresent their confirmation or worth. My animals are cared for with their needs in mind; I strive for a lifestyle for and with them that blends safety, trust, optimal health, superior breeding, professional ethics and training.
My animals are protected by 5 ft fencing and a livestock guardian dog. I have a 6 year old Great Pyrenees male, already experienced and bonded with livestock. He does an incredible job for me and maintains the most lovable disposition. We can't forget the guardian chickens! There is no better natural way to rid the yard of those pesky, troublesome and potentially illness producing insects...
